It is with profound sadness to announce the passing of Samuel Adolphus Walker. Samuel passed away peacefully at home with his wife by his side July 11, 2025, in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Samuel was born in Georgetown, Guyana on June 12, 1940, to Charles and Beryl Walker. He was the eldest brother of Cyril, David, and the late Grace and Andrew Walker.
Samuel immigrated to Canada in the 1970's. Graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Mary's University in 1997.
He was pre-deceased by his daughter Petal Walker and grandson Kadeem Walker-Bob, and survived by his spouse Velma Walker, his children Dawn, Roger, Deborah, Alita, Ann and Terry.
Affectionately known as "grandpa" and "papa Sam" to his grandchildren and great grandchildren and Uncle Sam to his nieces and nephews.
He will be fondly remembered as a brilliant mathematician, competitive chess player, avid opera enthusiast, cyclist, voracious reader who enjoyed watching nightly Jeopardy.
