Virginia Edith Allison

Allison, Virginia Edith – 89. November 4, 1920 – July 3, 2010. It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our mother on July 3, 2010 in Abbie Lane Hospital. She will be greatly missed but not forgotten by her family and friends. Virginia is survived by her daughter, Barbara, Dartmouth; sons, Douglas (Louise), Coldbrook; David (Shirley), Lower Sackville; Richard (Patsy), Lower Sackville, seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew. She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick; sister, Joyce (Martin Pinaud); grandson Stephen Richardson; and son-in-law, Charles (Chuck) Richardson. A Memorial Service will be held 11am on Thursday July 8, in Cruikshank's Funeral Home on Robie St., Halifax with Father George Westhaver officiating, reception to follow. A private family burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association or a charity of your choice. The family would like to extend their thanks to the doctors and nurses of the 9th floor of Abbie Lane Hospital for their compassion and care of our mother and family.
