William Fultz Bagnell of Halifax, NS passed away peacefully on April 5, 2012 at the Queen Elizabeth Health Sciences Centre. Born on January 1, 1926 in North Sydney, Fultz was the son of the late Fultz Bagnell and Ethel Marie Bragg.
Fultz was an independent, intelligent man with a love of books, music, food, world news, travel and long conversations with his family. The record of the longest phone call is of much debate within the family but is clocked at close to 3 hours. Knowing his family was connected with each other was important to him and many conversations began with “What’s all the news” or “How’s the family”?
During his working life, he worked for the RCMP in Montreal, CN Marine in North Sydney, Citadel Inn, CP Hotels and Resorts and Canada Post in Halifax. His travels included Europe and Russia and the memories of these trips gave him pleasure over and over and he continued to dream about yet another great trip.
He is predeceased by his parents, sisters Dinah and Beulah, and brothers Rollie and Graham. He is survived by his wife Eva Bagnell (Halifax), children Kurt (Heather Imrie) of Banff, Catherine (Barry Styles) of Halifax and John (Emily Chen) of Ottawa, grandchildren Breagh, Greer and Ryan, sister Elsa Boon of Barrie and brothers Philip of North Sydney and Freeman of Stanhope, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A private service will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund
Special thanks to the staff at the Bedford Berkeley and unit 8.2 at the Halifax Infirmary for their kind and understanding care.

“I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.” Robert Frost
