

Betty Ruth Stanton, age 81 of Hamilton, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at her daughter’s residence under the care of Hospice of Southwest Ohio. She was born on November 6, 1930 in Oakland, IL, the daughter of the late William Tippet and Jeanette (Walton) Sutten. On December 12, 1949, Betty married her husband of over 53 years, Joseph E. Stanton, Jr. and he preceded her in death on January 24, 2003. She was a member of McGonigle-Millville United Methodist Church and had put in 30 years of volunteering with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Betty enjoyed fishing, sewing, knitting and crocheting. She was stationed at the Opportunity Mart Booth in the Art Hall at the Butler County Fair every year since 1954 and even had an article written up about her in the Hamilton Journal just this past year. Betty is survived by her children, BettyJo (Lonnie Woolum) Berger, Tom (Cindy) Stanton, Kevin Stanton and Angela Stanton; grandchildren, J.P. Berger, Chris Berger, Melissa (Floyd) Napier, Shannon (David) Guenther, Janie Stanton, Kevin Stanton, Tiffany (Chris) Taylor and Adam Stanton; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, James Sutten of Inverness, FL and Maryann Lamb of Tracy, CA; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings, Edward and Henry Sutten. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 10am at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South “D” Street, Hamilton with Rev. Edwin Beck officiating. Interment will follow at Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
