

Burgess Lewis Chasteen Jr., age 79, went to be with the Lord on April 19, 2017 in Hamilton, Ohio. He was born to the late Burgess Lewis Chasteen Sr. and Mary Miller on September 18, 1937 in Dreyfus, Kentucky. Burgess worked at Hamilton Tool for over thirty years and served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher at First Baptist Church of Fairfield. He also enjoyed coaching Fairfield youth sports. After retiring from Hamilton Tool he worked for the Butler County Head Start Program. He was also a member of the Benjamin Franklin Lodge as a Free Mason. Burgess loved spending his time with his family, fishing and woodworking. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Joan Chasteen; 5 children Deborah (Dave) Klinzing, David (Karen) Chasteen, Deanna (Peter) Lagemann, Burgess Lewis (Kelly) Chasteen III, Robert (Holly) Chasteen; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother William (Della) Chasteen, John (Sandy) Chasteen; sister-in-laws Mary Chasteen, Joan Harris and son-in-law Steven Yockey. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Donna Yockey; step-mother Mary Chasteen and brothers Wilbur Chasteen and Ron Harris. A visitation will be held at Ivey Funeral Home at Rose Hill Burial Park Hamilton, Ohio on Monday, April 24, 2017 from 12pm-2pm with a funeral service to follow at 2pm. Burial at Rose Hill Burial Park.
