Colleen Ann (Wohrle) Perkins of Spring Hill, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on August 24, 2025, surrounded by loving family. After beating colon cancer in 1996, then putting up a heroic fight against endometrial cancer this past year-and-a-half, she succumbed to this merciless disease, allowing her to meet her Maker and rejoin her husband and other long-gone loved ones.
Colleen was born on January 2, 1946, in Hamilton, OH to Eugene Wohrle and Colletta (Boyle) Davis. She also received loving support from her stepfather, Richard “Dick” Davis. She graduated from Garfield High School (Hamilton, OH) in 1964. Colleen married James “Jim” Perkins on March 20, 1965, and relished her role as wife, mother, and proud homemaker.
Colleen was a people person. Nothing brought a bigger smile to her face than time spent with friends and family. It didn’t matter what the activity or occasion was, she just loved talking with people and listening to their stories. She never knew a stranger.
She loved to fish, dance, swim, bowl, crochet, and occasionally try her luck at the casinos. Whenever volunteers were needed, she always stepped up. This led her to wear many hats such as Cub Scout Den Leader, Band Concession Manager, Class Reunion Coordinator, Bocce Coordinator, and Village President, just to name a few.
Colleen was preceded in death last August, by her husband, Jim Perkins, and by her son Stacey Perkins, in 1986. She leaves behind two sons, Shawn (Judi) Perkins, and Randy Perkins; grandchildren Austin, Ryan, Annie, and Elizabeth; her stepbrother, James Blanton; numerous step-grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Close to her heart is Leigh Anne (Belt) Forthofer who was more like a daughter than a friend, and her husband Tony. She will be missed dearly by all her family and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 2565 Princeton Rd., Hamilton, OH 45011, beginning at 1:00pm until time of services, beginning at 3:00pm.
