Donald George Chain

Donald George Chain, age 90, of Fairfield Township, Ohio, passed away peacefully, with family by his side on Friday, February 17, 2023. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 11, 1932 to the union of George Chain and Dorothy Murphy. Don served honorably in The United States Navy from 1951 to 1954 during the Korean War era. His patriotism followed him throughout life. Don was employed at Procter and Gamble for 42 years as a fire inspector. Don was an avid golfer and loved the sport so much that he and his wife enjoyed spending winters in Florida on the golf course. Don, being the kind, patient and gentle soul that he was, and the love of his life, Clare, married for 61 years, loved traveling and spending time with his family and were members of St. Julie Billiart Parish in Hamilton, Ohio for 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Ronald Chain; his sister Shirley Glorius.

Don leaves to cherish his memory, wife Clare; four loving daughters, Maria A. Weller (Andrew), Julie A. Rieman (Patrick), Rebecca L. Fico (Neil, Sr.), and Jennifer C. Sand (Kevin); sister, Carole Fangman; eight grand-children, Drew, Paige, Neil Jr., Tyler, Cole, Kate, Clare, and Aidan, along with a host of other family and friends who will truly miss him.

Visitation will be at St. Julie Billiart Parish, 224 Dayton St., Hamilton, Ohio 45011 on Monday, February 27, 2023 from 9:00am-10:00am. Services will begin at 10:00am. Father Walling will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made to St. Julie Billiart Parish at the address listed above.
