He was born on August 28, 1931 in Three Point, KY to the late Pete and Lillie {Swanner} Steele. Dwight served his country as a Staff Sergeant Marine, seeing combat in the Korean War. He was employed at Champion Paper Mill for 44 years, before retiring. Dwight enjoyed all sports, and played softball on Champion’s Mill League. He loved the outdoors, telling stories, music, and spending time with his family. Dwight is survived by his children Dwight Jr. (Paula) Steele, John (Connie) Steele, Mike (Jenni) Steele, Karen (John) Miller; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; siblings Logan, Leona, Sue; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dwight was preceded in death by his wife, Janice; siblings Craig, Bob, Pearl, Ed, Fred; and great granddaughter Alyssa. A service will be held at 10am on Monday, February 11, 2019 in the mausoleum at the Rose Hill (Ivey) Funeral Home and Burial Park, 2565 Princeton Road Hamilton, Ohio 45011. Visitors to meet at Ivey Funeral Home for procession to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to your local Salvation Army.
