

Emma Jean (House) Gabbard, of New Miami, went home to her Lord on Friday, November 8, 2013 at Tri-County Extended Care in Fairfield. Born on May 12, 1917, Emma was born the oldest of 12 children to loving parents, Edward and China House in Clay County, KY. Living most of her life in New Miami, Emma was married to Elmer Gabbard in 1933 and they were together over 57 years until Elmer passed away in 1989. Emma loved and enjoyed her family and made many friends, including those at the New Miami Wesleyan Church where she was a founding member and taught Sunday school. Her family brought her her greatest joy in life. She worked for many years at Hamilton Provision Company. She is survived by her children, Robert Neil (Mary) Gabbard, Lois (William) Balsinger, both of Hamilton, Judy Day of Punta Gorda, FL; and sister, Joanne Maupin of CA. Also surviving are grandchildren, Theresa (Ralph) Lindsey, William (Charlene) Gabbard, Tracy (Dennis) Boles, Vickie (John) Jones, Rhonda (Ron) Geisler, Judy (Rob) Boehm, Darla Brown, Juli (Jon) Stamper, Debby (Brian) Graves and Charles E. Day, Jr. Also surviving are numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren. Emma is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death were husband, Elmer; children, Delores Gabbard, Donnie Gabbard and William Gabbard; daughter-in-law, Marie Gabbard; son-in-law, Charles Day; and great-grandson, Michael Jones. She was also preceded by her nine brothers and one sister. The family wishes to express their thanks to Tri-County Extended Care, Hospice of Cincinnati and Dr. Hernandez for the care of their loved one. Funeral Services will be conducted by longtime friend and pastor Orville Roach on Monday, November 11, 2013 at 1pm at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South “D” Street, Hamilton. Interment will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 11am until 1pm at the funeral home.
