

George “Don” Moore, age 91 of Hamilton, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018 at Westover Retirement Community. He was born on January 26, 1927 in Hamilton, the son of the late George and Hazel (Allen) Moore. He joined the Navy in January of 1945 and served in Guam during World War II. On July 26, 1947, Don married his wife of almost 68 years, Marianna (Miller) Moore, who preceded him in death on July 5, 2015. He worked for Champion Paper Company for over 40 years, retiring in 1986. He and his wife enjoyed the outdoors and loved playing golf with their family and friends. Don leaves behind his children, Donna (Dale) Shearer, Gary (Marcia) Moore and David (Beverly) Moore; grandchildren, Lori Moore, Beth (Kenneth) Sumner, Kelly (Brandon) Collett, Amanda (Matthew) Brzozowski, Brad Edrington and Ryan (Missy) Moore; thirteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Charlotte Crotty, Lee Moore, Robert Moore and John Moore; cousins and good friends, Arky and Jane Vaughn; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marianna; parents; sisters, Nina Moore and Alene Mullins; brother, James Moore; son, Steven Moore; and grandchildren, Steve, Michelle and Scott Moore. The family cannot thank the staff of Crossroads Hospice and Westover enough for all they have done to help them through this difficult time and request donations to Crossroads Hospice, 4380 Glendale Milford Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45242.
