Gerald "Jerry" Maggard, age 81 of Hamilton, passed away at Fort Hamilton Hospital on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at 6:55PM. He was born in Briscoe, AK on December 13, 1933 to Felix and Mallie (Napier) Maggard. Gerald was employed at The City of Fairfield Police Department as a Captain retiring after 30 years of service in 1985. He was also employed by the Butler County Auditor's office. Gerald was a United States Air Force Veteran from 1950-1954. He is a member of Fairfield Community Church. On May 31, 1974 in Tennessee he married Peggy Hoskins. Gerald enjoyed many different activities, including camping, yardwork, remolding of old houses, teaching Bible study class, watching grandchildren in many sporting activities, and always enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Peggy Maggard; his son/best friend, Jeff (Andi) Maggard; his sons, Mike (Tina) Maggard, Gary R. (Trenna Jossart) Hoskins; and his daughter Sonya (Marshall) Hodges; 7 grandchildren, Gage, Chase, Jacob, Zach, Karee, Laura, and Josh; 5 great grandchildren; and his long time friend Gaston (Jan) Bowling. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mallie Maggard and Felix Maggard; and two brothers, Murrel and Harold Maggard.
