

Hoyte Moore, age 92, of Okeechobee, Florida, formerly of Hamilton, died at Butler County Care Facility on Monday, May 28, 2012. She was born on May 1, 1920, in Gray Hawk, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Charles and Sophia (Madden) Turner. In 1938, Hoyte married her husband of over 64 years, Ranold Moore, and he preceded her in death in 2002. She worked in the Data Processing Center of Champion International Papers at Knightsbridge for 25 years. Hoyte was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church and attended Oakview Baptist Church in Okeechobee, Florida. She was an avid quilter, a member of the Gleaners Sunday School Class at Immanuel Baptist Church, a member of the Ida Betscher Quilting Circle and a member of the Stitchin’ Group in Okeechobee. She collected Depression glass and at the age of 91, Hoyte volunteered with the Salvation Army at Christmas. Hoyte is survived by her daughter, Deana Marlow and her husband, Starling, who Hoyte considered a “special son”, of Hamilton; two grandchildren, David Marlow and wife Debra of Tucson, Arizona, and Douglas Marlow and wife Leora of Liberty Township; two great-grandchildren, Kamaya Marlow of Lakeside, California and Timothy Marlow of Liberty Township; Carolyn “Bell” Rooks of Hamilton who was like a second daughter; two sisters-in-law, Rosella Turner and Jean Shelton, both of Hamilton; brother-in-law, Arnold and Jane Moore of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and several nieces and nephews. Hoyte was also preceded in death by her brothers and a sister, Alton Turner, Datha Carter, Adrion Turner and Lowell Turner; and many brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law. Funeral Services will be held at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South “D” Street, Hamilton, at 11am Thursday, May 31, 2012, with Rev. Joseph Tassell of Immanuel Baptist Church and Rev. Orville Roach officiating. Interment will follow at Millville Cemetery. Family and friends will be received prior to the service from 9-11am at the funeral home.
