James “Jim” Haynes, age 76, of Hamilton, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Drake Medical Center. He was born on August 10, 1940 in Maynardville Tennessee to Abe and Lucinda (Poff) Haynes. James married Linda Crye on April 3, 1965. She passed away on October 5, 2011. James worked for more than 35 years at Mosler Safe Company and another 10 years at Fairfield High School before retiring. He loved to garden and spend time with his family, especially his grandkids. James is survived by his daughter Lisa (Scott) Sullivan; grandchildren Shayla, Jacob, and Jessica; sister Betty Dozier; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, sisters Viola Sampson, Dorothy Thomas, Edith Davis, Bessie Bowman, and brother Leland Haynes. James was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by all. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 3, 2016 at Rose Hill Burial Park at 2 p.m., with Pastor Jacob Flannery officiating.
