James William Sweet, age 76 of Hamilton, passed away at his residence on Sunday, July 3, 2016. He was born in London, KY on February 19, 1940, the son of the late Willie and Etta (Johnson) Sweet. James served in the U.S. Army from 1957 until 1960. On July 3, 1959, he married his wife of 57 years, Donna Sue Halcomb. James is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Sherry (Thomas) Teague, Dennis (Mary) Sweet, Timothy (Cherie) Sweet and Chadwick Sweet; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sisters, Betty (Elmer) Fields, Carolyn (John) Smithmier and Libby (Fountain) Dearner. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Sue Parsons, Charles Sweet, Doris Fields, Debbie Smith and Johnny Sweet. The family would like to extend a special thank you to everyone at Hospice of SW Ohio for all their loving care. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 11am until 1pm at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South “D” Street, Hamilton. Funeral Service will be held at 1pm on Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor John Smithmier officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
