

James “Mike” Walker, age 68 of Hamilton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at his home. He was born on July 14, 1944 in Lexington, KY, the son of the late Marion “Mack” and Marie (Tate) Walker. Mike was a graduate of New Miami High School and went on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree from Western Michigan University. On July 23, 1971 in Hamilton he married his wife of over 41 years, Carol A. Bubemyre. Mike was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a member of St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church and worked for Ford Motor Co. for 39 years. He was a member of the Hugh L. Bates Lodge #686 F & AM, the Scottish Rite of Cincinnati and the UAW Local 863 Retiree Chapter. Mike was a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather. He will be sadly missed by many people who claimed him as family. Mike is survived by his wife, Carol A. Walker; daughters, Beverly (Dan) Mabry and Geri Lynn Ross; grandsons, Christopher (Samantha) Ryan, Matthew Clark and Tyler Mabry; and granddaughter, Katlyn Mabry. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Tommy Walker. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 10am at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church, 382 Liberty Avenue, Hamilton with Father Michael Pucke officiating. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 1, 2013 from 5pm until 8pm at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South “D” Street, Hamilton. Mike’s family would like to thank the Vitas Hospice nursing staff for all their care. They would also like to acknowledge Dr. Benzaquen and Michelle (the Mayfield Clinic) and Dr. Khanna and his staff for their care and concern.
