Jeanne E. Garner, 89, lifetime resident of Hamilton, Ohio, died Tuesday evening, January 24, 2017 at Hospice of Hamilton, after a long battle with cancer. Ultimately, the battle was won by God because He got Mom! She was not defined by her disease, but by a full life lived in service to others. Jeanne (Mom, Nana) was born in Hamilton Ohio on June 24, 1927 to John and Gwen Wilmer. She married William (Bill) Garner; the marriage ended in divorce. She leaves behind 2 daughters, Sharon L. Garner and Wendy B. Heinbaugh along with her adopted (by love) son, Larry Heinbaugh, husband of Wendy. She was blessed with 3 grandsons and their wonderful wives, Daniel P. Heinbaugh and Anya Carl-Heinbaugh, Matthew J. Heinbaugh and Julie (Judd) Heinbaugh and Joseph B. Heinbaugh and Rachel (Pennington) Heinbaugh. Her legacy didn't end there as she was blessed with 8 great grandchildren, Ellie, Leia, and Eden from Matt and Julie along with Jamin, Zakiya, Deja, Jovan and Jackson from Joe and Rachel. Mom worked at Ohio Casualty Insurance Co. for over 30 years and retired. Her life was filled with making cookies to be consumed by the family, checking on her friends from church, taking care of sick grandkids, friends, neighbors and anyone who would sit still long enough for her to "mother" them. To say she was a member of Fairfield Church of Christ would be an understatement. She was usually serving there; cleaning up after people from Sunday services, helping to organize, cook and serve people a funeral dinner, keeping attendance records, working with the office staff to get the newsletter out, was active in Keystones ministry and did just about anything else that needed to be done. Jeanne/Mom/Nana was loved by many and loved many in return. She began the Christian legacy in our family and passed the baton to those left behind. Her funeral service will be held this Saturday 1/28/2017 at Ivey Funeral Home, 2565 Princeton Rd., Hamilton Ohio. Visitation is at 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service immediately following.
