Joel Franklin Smith, 26, of Fairfield, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, on Wednesday, January 18, 2017. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Edgar and Lillie Daulton and Drucilla Davidson; grandparents, Carol Jane Smith and Franklin D. Davidson; brother, Joshua Smith; sister, Jessica Smith and nephew, Beaux Williams. Joel is survived by his wife, Miwa; mother, Denise Davidson; father, Paul Smith; sister, Lauren (Ezra) Williams; grandmother, Georgia Davidson; godmother, Debi Robertson and god-siblings, Destiny and Nathan Robertson as well as a host of aunts, cousins, extended family and friends. He enjoyed being outdoors and fishing. Joel loved his dog, Moxie. He fought a hard battle with cancer but never backed down from the challenges he faced. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at 12pm on Wednesday, January 25 at the Ivey Funeral Home, 2565 Princeton Rd, Hamilton. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Blue Ash. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Joel's memory be made to the American Cancer Society.
