
Joseph P. Cappa, age 86, was called home on May 15, 2014 in Hamilton, Ohio. He was born to the late Antonio and Mary (Acocella) Cappa on March 20, 1928 in Hamilton, Ohio. Joe worked at General Motors Norwood, was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and Italian American Society. He also was inducted to the Butler County Softball Hall Of Fame. Joe was an avid bowler, enjoyed sports, gambling, and trivia. He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth May (Young) Cappa, of 53 years; children Robert A. (Jenny) Cappa, William A. (Pamela) Cappa, Tina M. (Nick) Green, Jolaina L. (Steve) Hartman; grandchildren Megan, R.J., Riki, Matt, Tessa, Tia, Tanna, Adam, Jake; great grandchildren Ashley and Aubrey; special nieces Sandy, Connie, and Susan. He also leaves behind many family and friends including Partners and Prime of Fairfield, AMVETS Post 1983, and the Mayberry Gang at Nuxhall Driving Range. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, four sisters, and a grandson. A heartfelt thanks to the special people of Mercy Fairfield, Fort Hamilton Hospital, Gebhart Cancer Center for Care, Doverwood and Hospice of Hamilton. He loved you all.
