Lauren P. Kennedy, age 65 of Hamilton, OH passed away on February 8, 2021 at Bethesda North Hospital. She was born in Honolulu, HI on May 22, 1955 to Lawrence and Patricia (Dunn) Pihera. She enjoyed drawing, writing music, playing piano, animals, trees, the environment, and she was a political activist. Lauren liked to council others by sharing her own experiences, strength, and hope. On March 9, 1996 she married Steve Kennedy and together they had three children. She loved, accepted and believed in her family and children for who they were while at the same time supporting their growth and encouraging them to be the best versions of themselves. Although her health declined she still found purpose each day and lived life to the fullest. She was always ready to help anyone that needed it. She taught her children that mistakes don’t define you, no matter what has happened you can go on to accomplish great things. One of her best qualities was her ability to listen without trying to fix things. She would lend words of encouragement and help you discover a solution with a few words of wisdom. Until the very end she was a fighter, with a spark and light about her that illuminated the way for everyone she met.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Steve Kennedy; her children, Alaura (Kyle) Pittman, Stephanie Lauren Kennedy, Lawrence A.S. Kennedy; her aunt, Judith “Judy” (Don) Dunn; numerous other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by brother, Scott Pihera and her parents.
