LaVerne Webb Brown

LaVerne Webb Brown, age 84, of Roanoke, VA, passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2012. She was born on February 15, 1928 in Hamilton, OH to the late John A. and Odell Ramsey Webb. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene S. Brown. LaVerne was educated in Hamilton Public Schools and attended Fisk University and Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. She was employed by and retired from the Roanoke City Health Department after more than 30 years of dedicated service. She was a faithful member of High Street Baptist Church in Roanoke, VA until her health declined. LaVerne was also a member of the Roanoke Chapter of Omnia Bona, Inc. and the Roanoke Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Those left to cherish her memory are her cousins, Sandi Bryant Carter, Dorothea Hinton, both of Hamilton, OH and Ann White, of Indiana; caregivers, Tameisha Haynes, Geraldine Whaley, Lisa Petty, Rose Davis, Dorothy O'Neal, Douglas Dowe, Joyce O'Neal and Michael Kasey; and a host of other relatives and friends of the Roanoke Valley area and Hamilton, OH. Special thanks to LaVerne's caregivers and Carilion Clinic Hospice for your wonderful care and support. A Visitation will be held on Monday, May 7, 2012 from 10am until 11am at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South “D” Street, Hamilton, OH. Immediately following the visitation, a Graveside Service will be held at Millville Cemetery, Hamilton, OH.
