Nancy was born on November 21, 1935, in Indiana. Nancy was the daughter of Vorhees and Martha Spencer, and the sister to Donald Spencer. Nancy spent much of her youth with her aunts and cousins whom she adored. Nancy and her late husband, Joseph McGranahan, enjoyed traveling across country in their motor home, trips to Lake Cumberland, square dancing and even flying lessons. Nancy enjoyed spending her days gardening or being home where you could always find her curled up with a good mystery novel, crossword puzzles, board games or even the Tabloids. Nancy’s home was always opened to family and friends, whom she loved spending time with. Nancy was full of life in her own way and was always a great shoulder to lean on. She loved with all her heart and would do whatever she could to help those around her. She took pride in her children, grandchildren and loved all the new great grandbabies.
Nancy is survived by her children Timothy Anderson (Cindy), Rebecca McGranahan, Kathleen Teller (Jeff). She was the loving Nana to 7 grandchildren; Michael, Nicholas, Kyle, Katherine, Bryan, Jody and Darra and 18 great-grandchildren. She is proceeded in death by her father and mother (Vorhees and Martha Spencer), brother (Donald Spencer) and her husband’s Joseph McGranahan and John Anderson.
The family has chosen to hold a private celebration of life. They have asked in lieu of flowers that you take the time to volunteer at Cincinnati Hospice to make a difference in someone’s life, or at your nearby Hospice.
