Richard C. “Dick” Downey, age 77 of Hamilton passed away on February 11, 2022. He was born in Cincinnati, OH on November 3, 1944 to Robert and Gertrude (Kendel) Downey. Dick was a proud member of Madisonville-Madeira-Mariemont Mason Lodge #419. He looked back fondly at his years of coaching Knothole Baseball for Delhi Athletic Association. Dick enjoyed genealogy and spending time with his family. On January 8, 2000 he married Michele Boots.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Michele Downey; his children, Scott (Diane) Downey, Robert Downey, Brian (Ann) Downey; his step-children, Ruth (Taylor) Huberg, Caleb Mitchell, Naomi (Brian) McCreary; his grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler, Greg, Katie, Isabelle, Parker, Aidan, James, Thayer, Zoe, Finn; numerous great grandchildren; his brother, Jim Downey. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Kempf and his parents.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 12:00 Noon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 4831 Pleasant Ave., Fairfield, OH 45014. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park 2421 Princeton Rd., Hamilton, OH 45011.
