Ruby A Jones

Jones, Ruby A. (nee Hall), age 103, of Liberty Township, Ohio, passed away Friday, June 20, 2025. She was born in Fairhope, AL. on August 29,1921, to the union of Dempsey Hall and Ethel Roberts. After living in different small towns in that area, her family settled in Atmore, AL. Ruby married John Fred Jones on March 5, 1945, and they began their marriage in military life living in Ft. Belvoir, VA, Albuquerque, NM., and Ft. Hood, TX, finally settling in Huntsville AL. in 1964. She lived in Huntsville for 44 years and moved to Liberty Township, OH. to live with her daughter and son-in-law in 2008. In 2018, Ruby moved to Trustwell Living, Fairfield, OH. Though her body became weak and brittle, her mind remained sharp.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Fred Jones; son, John (Jack) F. Jones, Jr.; brother, Heron Hall; sisters, Elon Holland, Ruth Holderfield, Lola Mae Hall.

Ruby is survived by her daughter, Karen Jones Rauschkolb (Steven); daughter-in law, Brenda W. Jones; grandson, John F. Jones, III; step-granddaughters, Amber R. Braman (Kalen), Kimberly Woodall, and Laura Woodall; four great-step grandchildren; sister-in-law, Hazel B. Hall; six nieces and two nephews; and friends whom loved and spoiled her these last sixteen years of her life.

Private family services will be conducted at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to West Side Baptist Church, 154 Gordon Ave., Hamilton, OH. 45013 in Ruby Jones’ name.

The family would like to thank her doctor, Christopher Diatte, and his staff for their loving and excellent care for her health and well-being; the staff at Trustwell Living for loving and taking such excellent care of Ruby for the last six years of her life; the physical and occupational therapists who worked with and encouraged her when she needed them; the friends she made along her path, and those from West Side Baptist Church whom have prayed for her during the many times of struggle.
