Ruth E. Colwell

Age 80, of St. Clair Twp. passed away suddenly on Friday, May 24, 2013 . She was born on August 12, 1932 in Richmond, Kentucky, the daughter of Gilbert and Nettie (Blevins) Hendricks. On November 7, 1953, in Liberty, Indiana she married Herbert Colwell. Ruth was employed as a nurse’s aid at Ft, Hamilton Hospital for 21 years retiring in 1985. Ruth was a charter member of North Fairfield Baptist Church for 41 years. She was a wonderful cook and an avid Reds fan.

She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Herbert Colwell; her children, Randy (Terri) Colwell and Brenda Lawson; grandchildren, Sherri Hensley, Chavis Colwell, and Kayla (Mike) Wilson; great-grandchildren, Deven and Brendan Hensley; a sister, Alma Hawkins; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings.

Funeral services will be held at North Fairfield Baptist Church, 6853 Gilmore Rd., Hamilton, Ohio 45011 on Tuesday May 28th at 12 noon with Pastor Mark Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 10 AM to 12 noon. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to New Life Mission, 45 Henry St., Hamilton, Ohio 45011.
