Ruth Griffith

Ruth Griffith Age 84, of Hamilton, died May 21, 2015 at Golden Years Nursing Center. She was born in Hamilton on November 7, 1930, the daughter of William and Mable (Young) Schlottermiller. Sixty-four years ago Ruth married the love of her life Robert (Gene) Griffith on September 30, 1950 in Hamilton, Ohio. She is survived by her husband, Gene; her daughter, Sandy (Jimmy) Grace, of Florence, Alabama; grandson, Jason (Katherine) Griffith; two great grandchildren, Owen and Finn of Birmingham, Alabama; niece, Chris (Ed) Mignery; niece Gerry (Tom) Stewart; niece Marsha (L.E.) Nunley; nephew Mike (Julie) Strong; Carol (Griffith) Couto (Gene's cousin); Colleen (Boots) Schuster (Ruth's cousin); also a special friend since childhood, Dorothy Davis Huntington, and a trail of friends and relatives from Ohio, Alabama and around the world. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Douglas Griffith; a brother Dale (Pat) Schlottermiller: and a sister, Vivian (Al) Gambrell. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She graduated from Hamilton High School in 1948, and was a member of the D.J.K. Club with friends whom she went to school with from elementary through high school. Ruth was known to be a very loving and caring person. She will be greatly missed by many. The family wishes to thank the staff at Golden Years Nursing Center and Tridia Hospice for all their care and concern for Ruth.
