Virginia "Ginger" Norman

Age 79, of Hamilton, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016, at Hospice of Hamilton. She was born December 12, 1936 in Boydell, Arkansas to Josh and Mattie Ellafair (Harmon) Horn. On October 5, 1991 she married Dr. Stanley K. Norman who preceded her in death on January 31, 2011. She is survived by her beloved daughter Lou C. (Monte) Dole; stepchildren, Elise Norman Cundiff and Christopher (Ruthann) Norman; grandchildren, Rutger L. Dole, Abigail Virginia Dole and Jessica M. Dole; six step-grandchildren; special niece Brenda (Vince) Glasmeier; many loyal and dedicated friends, and her special friends and caregivers Rob Huffman and Sandy Vitale. Ginger was active in the community especially in her church, The Presbyterian Church of Hamilton, serving as an Elder and Deacon. She held leadership roles in Hamilton Fairfield Symphony, Friends of the Lane Library, Colleagues of Ft. Hamilton hospital, Red Hats, Current Events Club, Metropolitan Women’s Club, Presby Generation, Hannah’s Circle, Champion Papers Women and United Way. She was also preceded in death by her parents and twin sister Vernita Horn Baechle Elder. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at The Presbyterian Church, 23 South Front Street, Hamilton, with Dr. John Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Family and friends will be received prior to the service from 9:30am – 10:30am at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Presbyterian Church or charity of choice.
