Anastazia was born on January 1st, 1926 in the town of Tykha, Lviv Oblast, Ukraine. Her life brought many trials and tribulations. During WWII she was taken at the age of 15 to work as an Osterbeiter on several farms in Germany. The region was liberated by the British when WWII ended and fate brought her to the United Kingdom where she met her future husband. Several years later they immigrated to Canada. Anastazia was proud to be Canadian but also always loved everything about Ukraine and gave generously of her time to the local Ukrainian Community, supporting many community organisations and events.
