February 11, 1967 – March 16, 2026
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Andy Kummer, who passed away on March 16, 2026, at the age of 59.
Andy was a fun, loving, loyal, and respectful man who brought warmth and laughter to those around him. He had a kind heart and a genuine way of making people feel valued and appreciated. He was always the one who could put a smile on your face, no matter the day.
Andy was the 4th employee hired at VTR and dedicated 29 years of his life working there. He was reliable, dependable, hardworking and Andy’s character and morals influenced all that met him. He was a coworker with everyone but more than that he was a friend to all. He had a way of taking over a room with one of his impromptu speeches that would silence a room and bring it to laughter and to tears all at the same moment. Andy was an incredible man and was referred to as the VP of VTR because he led us all with how he carried himself with Integrity, Innovation, Quality and Care.
Andy had a love for country music and was never shy to pick up a microphone and sing, bringing joy and laughter to those around him. He will be remembered for the phone calls he would make—calls filled with humor, warmth, and care—that will stay in the hearts of his loved ones forever.
Andy is survived by his sister, Sarah, and his cherished nieces and nephew: Kerri-Ann (Chantz), Alyssa (Joshua), Bradley (Betty Jo), and Maria (Micheal). He will be deeply missed by extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Billy, his brother in law, Clifford Melito, his stepmother, Shirley, and his father, Donald.
Those who knew Andy will remember his loyalty, his caring nature, and the joy he brought into everyday moments. His presence will be greatly missed.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Adelaide’s Residence for their care and compassion over the past 22 years, and a heartfelt thank you to VTR for their ongoing support and friendship.
Though he may be gone from our sight, his voice, his laughter, and the love he gave so freely will echo in our hearts forever
