Anka Saric

Predeceased by her beloved husband Juraj and her parents and siblings in Croatia. Loving mother of Ivan (Goldie), Pavao, and Boźo (Irena). Cherished grandmother of Mark (Christina), Matthew (Sydney), David, Alicia (Derek), Michael (Lauren), Tomislav, and Tanja and great-grandmother of Marina, Oliver, Leo, Jack, Olive, and James. Beloved aunt to Nikola (Marija). She will be sadly missed by her extended family in Croatia and Canada.

Born on January 15th, 1932 to Ivan and Kata in Lovinac, Croatia, Anka officially moved to Canada in 1976 with her family where she worked hard for her children to live a successful and fulfilling life. Anka’s journey on this earth is one marked by resilience, love, kindness, and an unwavering faith in God. She enjoyed needle pointing, gardening, and cooking her famous apple pita/strudel.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the nurses and caregivers at Arbour Creek for their thoughtful care of our mother and grandmother. We appreciate your compassion and kindness in making Anka’s final journey as comfortable as possible.

The family will receive visitors at the Markey Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East, on Monday October 27, 2025 from 4-8 pm with prayers at 7 pm. The funeral service will be celebrated in the Markey Dermody Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at 10 am, followed by a private burial. The family will be accepting flowers and donations to the Holy Cross Croatian Church or charity of your choice.
