SIMS, Anthony (Simkevicius) – Passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, November 30th, at the Hamilton General Hospital, in his 91st year. Beloved husband of Helen, for 68 years. Loving father of Walter (Edith Core), Maria (Paul) Homer and Helju Macartney. Dearly loved Grandpa of Justin, Kyle, Chris, Jeremy, Jeff, Shane, Deanna, Jessica, Genevieve and Adrian. Great Grandpa of Adeline, Zack, Emma, Samantha and Madeline. Also survived by his nephew and niece, Algis and Laima.
An avid trap shooter, for over 40 years, Anthony traveled and competed all over the world, winning many awards and medals, including a silver medal in the Olympics. Fishing was another pastime he enjoyed as often as possible.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Lithuanian Church, 58 Dundurn St. N., on Thursday December 8th at 11am. In memory of Anthony, donations may be made to either the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
