

It is with heavy hearts we announce
the passing of our wife, mother,
grandmother, and friend at the
Henderson Juravinski Hospital on
Sunday, January 29, 2012. Beloved
wife of John for 53 years. Cherished
mother of Mary Ann Demsar, Dan
Demsar, and Frances Scarcelli (Dan).
Loving Grammie of Jason (Jackie),
Amanda (Jeremy), Nicholas, Vanessa
and Olivia. One of eight children, she
is survived by sister Paula Laznik of
Slovenia and brother Rado Kokalj
(Anica) of Argentina. She will be
sadly missed by relatives and friends.
Antonia arrived in Canada in 1958.
As well as being a homemaker and
mother, she worked in the restaurant
business and together with her
husband ran Toni’s Variety and
Snack Bar for 17 years. She was an
active member of St. Gregory’s the
Great Parish, member of the
Catholic Women’s League (KZZ) and
Slomskovo oltarno drustvo. She was
a member of Slovenski Park and
from working in the kitchen to
preparing the chapel, it was a
labour of love. Special thanks to Dr.
Dhesy and all her staff of Juravinski

Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. and
Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with
Vigil Prayers at 8 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated
at St. Gregory the Great Slovenian
Roman Catholic Church, 125
Centennial Parkway, on Friday,
February 3, 2012 at 10 a.m. Interment
Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of
flowers, donations to the Juravinski
Cancer Centre would be appreciated.
