Armando Spadaro

Loved husband of 62 years to Franca Spadaro. Cherished father of the late Lora Mattina and her husband Sam, David and his wife Lesley, Kevin (Stacey) and Dean- Paul. Devoted Nonno to Alexandra, the late Gabriel, Nicole, Hunter, Joshua, Madison, Matthew and Ciera Spadaro and Christian, Chiara and Solana Mattina. Armando was born in Catania, Sicily to Vincenzo and Adele Spadaro and is the dear brother of the late Guiseppe and his wife Gabriella, Sam, Maria and Aldo and his late wife Dolly. He is also the dear brother-in-law to Pat DeSantis (Joe), Lida Bergamo (Socrate) and the late Mary Traven (Renzo). He will be missed by his large extended family and many friends across Canada, Italy and the United States.

Armando had a passion for Formula One racing and was a devoted fan of Inter Milan soccer and all sports. He loved to socialize, take his daily walk at Eastgate Square and play cards at the Italian social club where he played for chocolate bars which he happily doled out to his grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Hamilton General ICU for their compassionate care.

Visitation will be held at Markey-Dermody, 1774 King Street East, Hamilton, on Thursday, April 24, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, April 25, at 11 am. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
