

Rev. Arthur Morris Russell, gone to be with his Lord on June 27, 2018 in his 91st year. Predeceased by his mother, Ann Bell Russell (nee Smillie) and father Henry Russell, siblings John, George, Agnes, Harry, Watson, and Janet, son H. Stuart Russell, first wife Adaline Betty Russell (nee Jamieson) and second wife Morag (Sarah) Dunn Allan Russell (nee Forrester). Survived by his children Adaline (Gus), Ian (Mary), Janilee (Gary) and Erik (Rebecca) and son by choice Ken (Heather); beloved Papa to 17 + 4 grandchildren, and 9 + 4 great grandchildren. Born in a coal miner’s cottage in Letham, Scotland, he led a life devoted to his Lord as a missionary and minister in Norway, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Toronto, and The Bahamas. He ministered and worked in Haiti, Jamaica and Bonaire. He travelled the world and was an ambassador for Christ wherever he went. He claimed to have retired in the 1990’s but went on to be an interim pastor at a number of churches and chapels. He and Morag settled in Hamilton, Ontario, later moving to Burlington. He lived at Tansley Woods Retirement Residence for his last five years where he was an active and involved member of the Resident’s Council, and substitute minister for the Chapel. Morris/ Papa/Dad and Uncle will be missed by his family and many friends from all around the world, whose lives were forever changed by knowing him. Friends may call at the Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Avenue East, Hamilton on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place at Calvary Baptist Church, 2458 St Frances Dr, (just off Guelph Line), Burlington on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. The burial will be held on Friday at Springcreek Cemetery, Mississauga.
