Betty Ann Farquhar

Betty Ann Farquhar (nee Herod) was a joyful woman who brought laughter to every room she entered. Her gentle nature, her inquisitive mind, her love of fun and her sense of humour will be deeply missed. She left us on September 8th at age 82.

Betty Ann attended Cathedral High School. She married our father at age 24 and worked at the Westinghouse until becoming a mother. She was a wonderful mom and a beloved grandmother. She is survived by her children Danial (Michele), Christopher (Laura) and Lynn Ann (Terry), and her grandchildren Trevor and Joshua (Farquhar) and Annie and Elliot (de Grey). She was predeceased by her husband, Tom Farquhar, and her brothers, Grant and Walter Herod.

Our special thanks to the staff at the Meadowlands Retirement Home in Ancaster, who comforted mom during the past month, both day and night. They made it possible for our mother to die peacefully in her favourite chair. More special thanks to Father Michal Kruszewski, Associate Pastor of St. Joseph’s Parish.

At Betty Ann’s request, there will be no viewing. Rather, there has been a cremation. The funeral service will be held at St. Joseph’s, 260 Herkimer Street in Hamilton on Friday, September 21st at 11 am.
