Blanche Iona Worthey

Peacefully on January 13, 2016 in her 91st year. Beloved wife to the late Alfred Worthey. Loving mother to the (late) Lana D’Achilla, Doug and his wife Patricia. Cherished grandmother to Angela De’Palma (Ross), Randy D’Achilla (Karen), Jason and Justin Worthey and great grandmother to Ashley and Daniel.

Dear sister to Ross (the late Agnes), Bruce (the late Frieda), the late Ivan (the late Eileen), the late Iva (Harold), the late Myrtle (the late Jack), the late Kye (Myrtle), the late Virgil, the late Mack (Julia) and Urene (Stewart)

She will be dearly missed by all her extended family and friends.

In her early years, Blanche worked for the Henderson General hospital in the Linen & sewing dept, following that with Mohawk Hospital Services. Her and Fred were the owners of King Connaught Fish & Chips in the 1970’s. She then returned to the Henderson Hospital before finally retiring.

The family wish to thank the staff at Willowgrove LTC and also the staff at the Hamilton General for their wonderful care and support.

Her family will receive friends at the Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Ave. E. on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel. Cremation to follow.
