Calogero "Charlie" Saieva

Charlie was predeceased by his loving partner Linda (Fletcher) for the past 30 years. Predeceased by his parents Vincenzo & Antonina, and his sister Michelina (Sardone). Charlie will be remembered by his sister Rosa (Pietro Sardone) and brother in law Francesso Sardone in Italy.

He will be deeply missed by his children Vince (Shirley), Angelo (Bailey), Carmelo (Sarah) and Antonella (Ewan MacLeod). He was an immensely proud and loving Nonno to Amanda (Branden), Sabrina (Nicholas), Vincenzo Jr, Marco, Savannah, Isabella, Alexandra, Paul, David, Andie and Bisnonno to Serenity, Summer-Rae, Selena and Bryson and many nieces and nephews in Italy.

Charlie was born in Agrigento, Sicily in 1944. He immigrated to Canada in 1969 for a better life for his family. He worked for LiUNA Local 837 for over 30 years. Charlie was a butcher by trade and loved to cook for his family and friends. Everyone loved Nonno’s cooking and would always ask him to make special meals for them especially a plate of pasta! The family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses at St. Joseph’s Hospital for their wonderful care for Charlie these past few months. A special thank you to Tina Allen and Marianne Virag at CCAC for all their help and to Josie Gillan (PSW) for all her caring support each day. Visitation will be held at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Avenue E. on Tuesday, April 12th from 2-4pm and 6-9pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Annunciation of Our Lord Parish, 280 Limeridge Road W. on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 10:30am with Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
