

Candido was born in Lucerna, Ocotepeque, Honduras, Central America. He emigrated to Canada in 1992.
He worked for many years in the banana plantation of Tela Railroad Company and he owned several cafeterias. He travelled the world while working as a seaman for various shipping companies. Riding his bike was his favourite pastime.
Predeceased by his loving wife Amparo Melara (nee Altamirano) of 30 years. Loving father to Nora, Edith, Rigoberto (Maria), Dennis (Corina), Gloria (Piotr) and Carmen (Daniel). Adored abuelito to Osiris (Mike), Eduardo, Olivier (Dana), Yuri Jr. (Melanie), Yurissa, Jose (Isabella), Maria, Milka, Yeshua, Dennis Jr. (Rachel), Mikhjael (Lesly), Nancy, Ryan, Gabrielle, Sophia and Amelia. Cherished bisabuelito to Carlos, Mila, Santiago, Celia, Aaliyah, Jace, Aria, Baya, Mikaela, Leo, Stella, Lena and Malcolm. Survived by his sister Carmen and predeceased by his parents José and Jesus, siblings Enriqueta, Elíseo and Betulia, and his father in law Pedro. He will be deeply missed by Yuri Varela Sr. as well as many extended family and friends in Honduras, in Hamilton, Vancouver and the USA.
Visitation will be held at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Avenue E. Hamilton, Ontario on Monday, November 14, 2022 from 11am-1pm with a funeral service to follow in the chapel at 1pm. For those who wish to attend the service virtually please click the link provided below. Interment to follow at Mount Hamilton Cemetery, 260 Rymal Road East Hamilton, Ontario.
