We are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of Carl Gill on Wednesday June 27th at his home in North Bay, ON. Carl was born in Trenton Nova Scotia and moved to Hamilton in 1958 in search of better employment opportunities. Carl found both work and a wife. Carl met his wife Anne in 1959 and they were married in Hamilton on May 19, 1962. Carl worked at International Harvester (JI Case) for 34 years until his retirement in 1995. In 1997 Carl and his wife Anne moved to their second home in North Bay to enjoy their golden years. Carl had a passion for the outdoors. He was a multi-skilled hardworking man who never shied away from a hard day’s work. There was nothing he couldn’t do. He enjoyed maintaining his property which involved cutting trees, clearing brush, mowing the lawn equally as much as fishing or just sitting on the deck relaxing. Predeceased by his father Adam, mother Della, brother Stewart and sister Louise. Carl is survived by his wife Anne (nee Glassford), son Robert, daughter-in-law Donna, granddaughter Olivia, twin brother Mike, brother Albert, brother-in-law Brian Glassford, sister-in-Law Tanya Glassford, and many nieces and nephews in Ontario, Nova Scotia, and California. Carl will be fondly remembered by everyone. The family will receive friends at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Ave. E., on Wednesday, July 11th from 5-8 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, July 12th at 11 a.m. in the chapel, followed by a reception.
