Catherine "Cathy" Rosalie McDermot LePoidevin (née Truthwaite and Franceschini)

Cathy is joining her recently deceased husband Ray, who died on September 2, 2024. Born on July 18, 1940, Cathy lived a life full of love, compassion, and dedication. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Cathy was kind, generous and dedicated to her friends and family with unwavering love for those in her life. Cathy was always occupied, working at Stelco, then as a stay-at-home mom, and then for the City of Hamilton in the Culture and Recreation department for many years until her retirement. Cathy is survived by her son Craig, daughter-in-law Carole-Anne and grandson Nathaniel, as well as her brother Ian Truthwaite, her nephew Dalton, her niece Christine Phibbs, with her husband Jay and their son Evan, to whom she was known affectionately as Auntie Tah. Cathy is also survived by her stepfamily Terry (Simone), Daren (Karen) and Collen (Dennis) and the numerous friends who will miss her dearly. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who knew her. A visitation will be held at Cresmount Funeral Home, located at 322 Fennell Ave. East, on Saturday, September 21, from 6 to 8 pm. where family and friends are invited to gather and honour her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice. Rest in peace, Cathy. Your spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved you and the envelopes that we continue to find.
