Côté, Conrad Joseph - Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, Conrad Cote finally let go of his courageous seven year struggle, on Friday, May 12, 2006, at the age of 78. His strength until the end proved how much he loved his beautiful and devoted wife of 56 years, Simone and each and every one of his nine children: Noella (Denis), Giselle (Allen), Dorice (Christine), Maurice (Dallas), Carmen (Gerard), Anne-Marie, Rita (Denis), Diane (Paul) and Denise (Randy). He was the best "Pépère" to his 17 grandchildren and their spouses and his 13 great-grand-children. Predeceased by his infant daughter Yvonne Ginette. A hero to many and a friend to all, he will be so dearly missed by his many loving brothers and sisters, in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. Born and raised in New Brunswick, Conrad moved his wife and family to Hamilton in search of a brighter future. He worked hard all his years to provide for us but it was his love for fishing, hunting, and his family that made for many great stories and kept us laughing until the very end. Many, many thanks to the staff at Hamilton General Hospital and especially to all the wonderful nurses and staff at St. Peter's Hospital for the loving care provided to our husband and father during his last few weeks with us. Family and friends will be received at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers Monday at 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass to be held at Paroisse Notre Dame, 243 Cumberland Ave, Hamilton, on Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or St. Peter's Hospital Foundation.
