My wife Saro & I have been close friends with Sister Connie for 47 years. Sister Connie has been a wholehearted prayer support through the years especially when we faced  challenges. 

Pastor David , Sister Connie , Jamie, Kevin & Brent are God given family to us. We do thank God for this privilege. Our Prayers are with them at this difficult  time. But God is our refuge & will never forsake us.

Connie was always known as a prayer warrior and if you needed prayer she was always more than willing to pray! Pastor David Shepherd and Connie were apart of our lives for many years at Bethel. We were prayed over many times and I clearly remember back in 1994 I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease and many visits in the hospital. Pastor and Connie arranged for many to pray over me one night after service and prayer is powerful! After months I was healed and to this day the crohns has never returned! Prayer warriors they are together! Connie always put Christ first and loved deeply and todays service and the stories told impacted so many life’s ! She was loved by so many and will be deeply missed . Praying Gods peace comfort and strength to each one of you.

It is with sadness in our hearts that we have heard the news of our Dear Sister’s departure to a Temporary Home -  till we all meet at Jesus Feet soon, ( at the Rapture ).
I remember “ The Clark Sisters “ back in the 50’s and always enjoyed their ministry!
Soon after that, they were joined by what I called “ The Clark Boys “ and two of them were in “ our final year “ at EPBC in “ 65 “ in 
The Sowers Class.      Connie had such 
a “ loving “ disposition & was revered by all that had the pleasure of knowing her.

Ruth and I have known Connie for over 60 years and we were so blessed to have her as our Pastor's wife at Bethel for over 20 years.
She was a dear friend who we loved and respected deeply and was always a source of wisdom, kindness, and inspiration to us and everyone that knew her.  She was a prayer warrior and loved the word of God -  after our oldest son Andrew had experienced multiple ear infections and significant loss of hearing, she laid her hands on his ears and prayed for healing and he was completely healed.  Her impact and influence came directly from her own deep relationship with her Lord and saviour, Jesus Christ.

The departure from this world of a long term spouse and partner leaves many empty spaces. Pastor Shepherd, be assured of God’s great promises, that in your time of grief that He IS with you and will remain the God of All Comfort. To- David Sheppard and the family,  I can still remember Connie and her sisters as they traveled in evangelist meetings and visited my home church in |Napanee, more than once, then when all 3 of them attended Bible College in Peterborough and roomed right across the hall from my place.  Special memories of a life and lives well served for their Lord and Master.

I trust God's strength will be with all of you at this time as I have journeyed down this road 6 years ago, with both my beloved son, Tim, only 37 and husband, just 7 mos. apart and I look forward to that Glad reunion day and believe we will all be reunited again one day soon.

It is with heavy hearts and sadness to hear of Connie's passing.  In years gone by and having spent so much time with your family across at the cottage and back and forth,  we developed very fond memories, enjoying both fun and fellowship together.

Connie was a true friend and a wonderful Lady who loved the Lord dearly, and shared many a laugh and also insight into Gods word with us.  She called mom othen to chat,  catch up and visit when she was able. 

Although she will be missed, we know she has is firmly and 
comfortable with the Lord.  We as believers, will see her again soon.

When I read of Connie‘s passing, I could only say another beautiful soul has gone onto her reward. I really don’t have a memory without Connie. I grew up in Komoka. Connie grew up in Mount bridges. Our families were connected when my grandparents and her mother and dad were introduced to the gospel of salvation.  She leaves  a gaping hole in our hearts.  A quiet woman of strong faith, kind, supportive and always a beautiful smile. Oh yes, a fantastic piano player.  It has been my privilege to have known her and called her my friend. Love and prayers to you, David and the children.

It is both with a heavy heart at the passing but a thankful heart for having known Connie that I write this memory.
 I (Carol) was just a teenager in the Napanee church when the Clark sisters came for a week of services that lasted several weeks.  Their ministry touched my heart forever..  I never forgot them.
Later in my life, living in Hamilton, I was reacquainted with Connie, and we became great friends with the team Dave and Connie. We shared so many laughs, as we would sit around the living room and share, pray and sing.  
Remembering the time Dave showed up at our door incognito and I slammed the door in his face, he quickly went back to the car and got Connie for protection.  We laughed so many times over that event.  Then there was the time they both came to dinner all dressed up in their finest farmer overalls and straw hats.  
Over the many years we shared so many wonderful times together, coffee, dinners, parties and listening to Connie’s story about how their family came to the Lord and how the blessing of that event definitely lives on today with the many family members serving the Lord and others.
We often asked Connie to pray and to hear her pray was so powerful.
She would often pulled the picture of Brent out of her purse, and her line was, “You can’t tell me God doesn’t perform miracles”,  That was always a source of  encouragement.  
Brent endeared himself to us when he went to McMaster, using our drive as his parking place and then coming in for cookies and milk.  We saw that miracle and our faith was increased.
We will miss those times we shared, her wit, her charm, her laughter, her love, her prayers that filled each visit and we loved every minute of it.  
Sincere sympathy to the family members who shared this amazing woman with the rest of us..
We were/ we are honoured to call her friend.

I will always remember Connie. She was a beautiful and kind person. She always stood behind her husband and children. She was devoted and she personified the love of Christ to everyone she met. I recall one Sunday morning when she taught at Bethel Gospel Tabernacle, many years ago. I wrote in my bible what she said and I have never forgotten it, "Little is much when God is in it." Connie has impacted so wonderfully the lives of my husband David and I, as well as many others. 
My Husband remembers a message from Pastor Shepherd many years ago that has stayed with him;  he could not do what he was called to do if he didn't have Connie standing with him.
Until we meet again, Connie.

My deepest condolences to David and the family in the passing of Connie.  I remember Connie as a teenager,  along with her sister Dorothy, holding evangelistic services at our small  Faith Tabernacle church in Brantford.   What a joy, as a teenager myself, to have her in our home on several occasions -  a tremendous fun-loving whit!   She was strong , steadfast & faithful to the Lord from a very early age - what a marvelous legacy. 

Warm. Gracious. She fulfilled her name, "Constance." 

Joyful. Loving. Strong. Faithful. Lover of God. One who walked with Jesus, and now worships without restriction in His presence.  

An exemplar. Rare. One who will be missed, even more than we at a distance can know.

She noticed that something was not right and offered  to pray. God brought me through it. What a woman of prayer! I am away on a missions trip but will be praying for the family.

Oh my. I am so saddened by this new of Connie’s passing.

May I give my deepest condolences to Pastor David and the rest of the family. My prayers are with you at this time. Our church will also keep you in prayer. 

I wish to share the influence of Connie and Pastor David.

I was on staff in Bethel in Hamilton when their son Brent was sick with cancer and almost died. I remember wondering how they could carry on so faithfully when they were going through this great challenge. I remember saying, “I could never do what they did.”

It wasn’t until 29 years later when my wife and I found ourselves in the very same situation. Our oldest son Matthew was diagnosed with cancer and we were not sure if he would make it. But I remember the example of what I saw in 1990 at Bethel. A man and woman of God who stood in faith and believed. 

David said to the doctors, “You do what you must do and we will do what we must do, We are people of faith and prayer.” 

When we sat in the hospital on Father’s day 2019 and were told that our son has cancer, the Holy Spirit reminded me of what Pastor David said. So I repeated it. “Doctor, you do what you must do and we will do what we must do, we are people of faith and prayer.”

When, I was told that my son had two weeks, I remembered what Connie said to David. “Take me to the church so I can pray like I know I must pray.” I followed that same example of prayer.

When my wife was I the hospital for 40 day and in a coma for 21 days and almost died several times, I remembered the words and example of both Pastor David and Connie.

I will never forget that. “I am a man of faith and prayer.”

I am please to say both my son and my wife are totally healed today. I owe that to Jesus, our great healer, but I also owe that to an amazing Pastor and his wife who showed me what to do when tragedy hits your home.

I will always be grateful for their Godly example.
