I met David for the first time at John & Wilma's wedding in Emmen, and I tought him to say some sentences in Dutch at the wedding. Sentences he still remembered when I saw him again at John's 65th birthday. He was a warm and friendly person who always made you feel welcome. My heart goes out to him and especially his wife Josie

I’m so sorry to hear of David’s passing. I’m a long time friend of Miriam’s and remember fondly making visits with the family over to David and Josie’s. He was such a kind and gentle soul. Sending love and strength to Josie and the McMurrans and hoping you can smile at the many wonderful memories x

I first met David in the 1960's when John and I went to school together. Some good times were had in the McMurran household at New Year, with David often to the fore. Years passed and I occasionally met up with him, always good natured and full of fun. Going over to Canada in the last few years and meeting up again was like we had never been apart. A kind, good natured man who liked company and swapping jokes and laughs, I miss him dearly.

Although our paths had crossed some 45 years ago in Glasgow I only really got to know Davie in the last few years with several visits to Canada. I found him to be a man who was very easy in conversation and someone who always exuded warmth and friendliness. For me he was a truly lovely man and I feel honoured to have come to know him in recent years.

Mike and I are devastated at the loss of David, he had an infectious smile and although we didn’t see him much these last few years, he will be sorely missed.  Our deepest condolences to his family and friends.   God bless.  Mike and Gail Griffin.  

The strength of a man is in his character. His top priority is to his family. He never loses his sense of humor. And we can't think of anything we wouldn't give, to see that lovable, familiar face that meant so much to us. Just to spend a day with you and laugh with you again for since you've been gone life has never been the same. We love and miss you, Tito Daddy.

I have many happy memories of David, mostly from my youth in Scotland, when I travelled often with John, and their Dad, Jacky, to Glasgow Rangers and Scotland matches.  
Win or lose, Davy always had something to say about the game, and in particular about the match officials! We had many a hearty laugh in the car, on the way home.
I remember trips with him to Blackpool, London, and Barcelona, and Davy was full of fun and enthusiasm on these jaunts.
Davy, thanks for all the happy memories, and my thoughts are with all your family members.

David was the kindest man. He was a talker and a loud talker I might say. I’m hearing impaired but I used to take my hearing aids out when the McMurran men got together. He loved telling stories. He would talk to anyone and everyone and he would talk about everything. We will miss him so much. R.I.P. David. You’re always in our hearts. It’s still very unreal. I love you.
