Peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospital in her 62nd year after a valiant battle with cancer. Diane was predeceased by her parents Annabelle and Roger Bates, brothers Donald, Raymond and Larry Bates, and also by her great nephew Ikeche Bates. Diane is survived by her son David (Tina), grandsons Tyler and Joshua. Also survived by her sister Jo-anne, and her brother James Bates, both of Edmonton, Alberta. Diane will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and by many friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Goffin at the Juravinski Cancer Centre, the caregivers at St. Peter’s Hospital as well as nurses Jackie and Nancy. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at the MARLATT FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE 615 Main Street East (east of Sanford) on Friday December 12, 2008 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Centre would be appreciated.
