Born in Hamilton to Arba & Doris Heacock on July 15, 1942 and raised with her sister Fay and brothers Wayne (Beverley) & Gary all of whom she adored.
Dianne is pre-deceased by her parents Arba & Doris Heacock, her sister Fay Powers and sister-in-law Beverly Heacock. She will be missed by her brothers Wayne (Beverley) Heacock & Gary Heacock and fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Dianne was the devoted and loving wife of Gordon for 58 years, and a proud mother to Allan and Shannon (Chris Weston). She was a cherished grandmother to Chloe, Max, and James, who brought her immense joy. Dianne was also a special and beloved aunt to her first princess, Leanne, and to Leanne’s sons, Ryan, Matthew, and David, all of whom held a very special place in her heart along with her many other nieces and nephews.
A devout, lifelong member of Faith United Church (formerly Ryerson United), the UCW (Unit 1) and the church choir, Dianne’s faith guided her life and her service to others. She gave generously of her time, first as a school volunteer, followed by a career as an Educational Assistant with the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board. Dianne was especially known for her work in kindergarten classrooms, where her patience, kindness, and gentle spirit touched countless young lives. Dianne cherished the life long friendships that were developed through the church and her work.
A proud Hamiltonian, Dianne was a loyal fan of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and would happily tell anyone that she was a majorette for the Tiger Cats in her teenage years. She also loved the Toronto Blue Jays, and was always loudly cheering on her favourite teams.
Dianne will be remembered for her warmth, her dedication to family and community, and her unwavering love for those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to thank the devoted care team at Arbour Creek LTC for their compassionate care and ensuring that she was comfortable and loved during her final days.
