Dimitrios was born in Greece and and served in the Greek Military and upon completing his tour of duty, he and Thomaitsa married in 1960. They immigrated to Canada to start a new life. He first worked at the Seaway Hotel, learning the hospitality trade, for eight years before purchasing his own restaurant, The Tennessee, in Toronto. After a decade in the restaurant industry, he changed careers and spent the next 25 years as a Maple Leaf Poultry Producer; retiring at the age of 65.
He was an avid hunter, enjoyed watching sports, especially the Toronto Maple Leafs. He loved taking long walks and trips to Greece with his wife, Thomaitsa. He was a real jokester, never missing an opportunity tease and tell stories. The most important thing in his life was spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.
