GAVIN, Dorothy Lillian (nee Currie) November 24, 1931 - September 29, 2012 Dorothy passed away surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of William Gavin for over 61 years. Beloved Mother to Alan Gavin (Rhiannon), Heather Gavin, Patricia Gubbins (Bob), Sandra Jocelyn (Ed) and Karen Lang (Michael). Proud Grandmother to Kevin and Scott MacDonald, Bradley, Melissa and Lesley Gubbins, Gavin, Meaghan and Courtney Sampson, Rachel, Spencer and Kelsey Lang. Great-Grandmother to Hannah, Reyd, Candice, Rachel and Alex. Survived by her siblings; Helen Sutherland, David Currie, Marie Winsel, Gordon Currie Keith Currie and sister-in-law Margaret Smith. Dorothy had an esteemed career with Hamilton Psychiatric Hospital and the East Region Mental Health Program as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse. She was a life time member of the Victoria Curling Rink of Hamilton. As our matriarch, Dorothy's vitality and enjoyment of life has enriched our lives and will be remembered for all time. Visitation will be held at Markey Dermody Funeral Home , 1774 King St. East, Wednesday, October 3, 1-3 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Dorothy's life will take place at Delta United Church, (Ottawa and Maple Ave.), Thursday, October 4th at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.
