Wayne was a private and thoughtful man, known for his exceptional intellect and vast knowledge. He was deeply well-read and consistently well-informed—a steady source of wisdom for those around him. His ability to offer calm, objective perspectives made him a trusted voice within our family.
Wayne enjoyed a long and successful career, followed by many fulfilling years of retirement. He had a deep appreciation for life’s pleasures—golf, skiing, and all things sports-related, as well as travel, cooking, gardening, and savoring a good glass of red wine. In quieter moments, he found joy in music and film, always curious and engaged.
Wayne is dearly missed by his loving wife, Joanne; his mother, Patricia Sexton (née Eccles); his in-laws David and Carolyn, Don and Brenda, Christine, and Michael; and by many aunts, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and close friends. He was predeceased by his father, Paul Sexton.
In keeping with Wayne’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family gathering has been held.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be deeply appreciated by Wayne and Joanne.
