With great sadness, we announce Edgar's passing on July 9, 2016 in his 77th year. Loving husband of 53 years to Helga, dear father to Robert and his wife Sindy, Bryan and wife Lori as well as Gordon and partner Laurie. Proud Opa of grandchildren Mathew, Christopher, Rachel, Miranda, Ethan and Alice. Brother-in-law to Gabrielle. He will be missed by many dear friends and neighbours. Edgar was an avid outdoorsman, downhill skier, water skier, fisherman, hunter and the builder and pilot of radio controlled model airplanes. He came to Canada in 1959, started at Dofasco in 1960 and retired after 32 years of a successful career as Assistant Superintendent mechanical maintenance in the cold mill and finishing departments. Friends and family will gather at MARKEY DERMODY FUNERAL HOME (1774 King Street East) on Monday July 18 from 1pm until 2pm when we will be holding a memorial service in the funeral home chapel. Following his wishes, cremation has taken place.
