

Edwin passed away peacefully in his sleep Nov. 21 2017 at the age of 96. Predeceased by his loving wife Gwen with whom he enjoyed 63 years of marriage and son Russell. Loving father of Dennis (Jan), Marlene Colvin (Bruce) and Brian. Grandfather to Jeremiah, Sarah, Jonathan and Stephanie Howarth (Gord). Edwin was a WWII veteran, who served on the ships, Iles de France and Queen Elizabeth , caring for the injured who were returning home across the Atlantic. After the war he worked for Hamilton Signs for over 70 years starting as a painter, eventually becoming owner and manager of the business. His talents for painting, renovating and carpentry, joined with his love of boating lead him to design and build his own boat. Throughout all his life time he lived out his Christian faith serving in the church as deacon, elder and teacher. His fun loving ways, light hearted singing and humour will be greatly missed. Visitation will be at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME,322 Fennell Ave. E., Sunday 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service to be held in the Chapel on Monday at 10:00 a.m. Internment will be at White Chapel Memorial Gardens followed by a reception at Cresmount. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Canadian Bible Society.
