NOLAN, Elizabeth "June" (nee Thompson) October 28, 1926 - July 29, 2013 Peacefully at Wentworth Lodge just before midnight. Predeceased by her loving husband Dan (1994). Survived by her daughter Gail Stevenson (Jim) and son Dan. Also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. Predeceased by her brother Bill. Mom was a farm girl from Glanford Township. She went to Caledonia High School. She came to the big city after the war to go to Business College. She met our dad and they married in 1949. Mom worked at the gas company, a variety store and as a ward clerk at Chedoke Hospital. She also worked in raising us. They lived in Smithville for 10 years before moving to the West Mountain where mom and dad found a little piece of heaven. Mom loved to cook, bake, read and talk. She was an animal lover. She enjoyed mysteries and especially liked programs like Midsomer Murders, Poirot, Miss Marple and Murder She Wrote. She also followed the Blue Jays and liked watching curling on TV. She had a keen mind and was always up on current affairs. She liked the Royals and this last weekend was talking about the new Royal Baby. We thank all the staff on Oak Lane for caring for our mom since 2010. As per her request, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. A private family burial will take place.
